Wildfire evacuation: what I grabbed before I left my home and which remedies to consider for panic and shock
You’ve probably heard by now that our beautiful province British Columbia here in Canada is on fire. The area that has been hit the hardest is the Interior of BC where me and my family have lived for over seven years.
On Friday July 7th we were forced to leave our home, We quickly loaded our horses in the trailer, put the kids and dogs in the cars and grabbed valuables and irreplaceable stuff. We had to decide quickly what to pack because the situation became very serious within a short period of time.
What would you grab first?
Of course you want to make sure that the children and animals are safe and then take all necessary papers, passports and the HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES! And of course some clothes if there’s enough time.
Boy, was I happy to have my remedies with me. I don’t know if you’ve ever been involved in any kind of emergency situation or natural disaster but if so I hope you had access to homeopathy!
We found refuge at our friends’ place which is about 40km away from our place. Unfortunately within the next two days new fires started all over the area so that many highways became closed. By Sunday night we were full of panic. Everyone had fear in their eyes.
Legs began to shake and we felt sick in the stomach.
We were trapped! New fires had popped up all around us and they had just closed the last highway which could lead us out of the danger zone.
It became clear that we quickly needed a homeopathic remedy which would help us
cope with shock and panic. Luckily my mind was still clear enough to review the main symptoms and decide for the correct remedy.
Here’s what we experienced: fear of dying, predicting the exact time of death (‘ if the fire travels in this speed for another 36 hours, it will arrive here”), shaking legs and hands, facial expression shows panic, shock, restlessness, pounding heart, dry mouth and thirst.
Your turn: which remedy do you think we should’ve used?
??????????????????????????????????????????????
Right! We used Aconite.
I decided we should use Aconite in water. Everyone took a sip. The cup went around 2-3 times within the next hour. One could notice the remedy action after minutes so that even our host who had never believed in homeopathy was impressed when he saw his wife calming down.
(Side note: other remedies to consider in case of anxiety and panic are: Argentum nitricum, Arsenic album, Calcarea carbonica, Gelsemium sempervirens, Kali arsenicosum, Kali phos, Lycopodium, Phosphorus and many more. As always it really depends on the specific symptoms, causes and modalities.)
We did not sleep too well that night but at least we were able to sleep at all.
On the following day one of the main highways was re-opened so that we packed up and headed to the Lower Mainland of BC. Finally we were safe!
Today marks day 25 of our adventure. We have not returned home yet even though the evacuation order has been lifted to an evacuation alert a few days ago. “Our fire”(the fire closest to our home) is 100% contained by now (which unfortunately does not mean that it is under control – the firefighters – our heroes have managed to put some sort of guard around it). Some of the other wildfires in the area remain totally out of control.
We are planning to return home within the next couple of days if everything stays calm and the highways are open.
For those of you who asked for an appointment: I will be able to take on new clients again soon. I’ll keep you posted about the exact date when I’ll open my clinic again.
I’m also on fire to finish my upcoming course and finally record the videos for course #3 of the Classical Homeopathy Certification Program: Acute Homeotherapy for Nervous System Disorders (Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Headaches, Insomnia, Neuralgia).
It seems as if in the last weeks God intended to give me a little more practice in treating anxiety, shock and panic..that’s how life works I guess 🙂
I’m hoping all is well at your end!!! Please stay in touch and let me know how I can help.
Sending you love and happiness,
